TAC's Triathlon

T.A.C.'s Triathlon by Shea McDonald

On the 1st of March, all St Mary's students from the intermediate department, biked or walked to Windsor Park to participate in the TAC's triathlon. TAC's stands fro Town and Country triathlon, which is where all local schools, close to Hastings with an intermediate department participate in a triathlon. This race includes a 2km run, a 4km bike and a 200m swim. The race could be done in a team or as an individual.

The races kicked off with the individual girl's race, then was followed by the individual boys. Both races had magnificent competitors, that showed fair sportmanship. They put all their efforts into their run, bike and swim. Luckily for St. Mary's Samantha Anderson got 1st place in the individual girl's race.

All supporters were marvelous with their attitude, cheering on anybody, whether they were coming first or last.

In conclusion, the races went stunningly well, with great participation from every school. Apart from 1 or 2 flat tyres and a minor bike crash, everyone managed to complete their laps. After the races ended, some people refueled on sausages and juicies before all the students returned to school.
