Football Skills with the Napier City Rovers

Now we are developing our Football skills. There are similarities with our previous skill development in basketball and hockey. We have begun with dribbling skills and moved onto passing and trapping skills. In each session we begin with simple technical skills, then quickly move onto using these skills in a game. Today we learnt about passing the ball accurately and the game we played was called "Ghost Busters".

Hockey Skills with Hawkes Bay Hockey Association

HB Hockey have provided for us an excellent series of sessions that have given us a fantastic taste of hockey. Our coach was Gary. Each week he helped us develop our skills at dribbling, passing and catching and importantly strategies to play as a team.
We learnt to manoeuvre around our opponent, find space to allow our team mates to pass the ball to us, skills in defence and attack.
Our skill development was amazing!

Basketball Skills with the Breakers

Over eight weeks in Term 2 we had the opportunity to train with a fantastic coach/player from the Hawke's Bay Breakers team. He taught us the skills needed to dribble, pass and catch, shoot for the goal and work as a team. Each session we practiced skills, then played a game. It was great fun. Everyone noticed their improved skill levels.
